Text Request Guidelines

As of January 1, 2012, IPA Source no longer fills quick text requests. You may still submit titles for inclusion in our database and our requests will prepared according to our predetermined preparation schedule. All requests must adhere to the following guidelines.

Please remember, we are not a translation service, requested texts will be included in our database only if they fulfills the following conditions:

1. Only texts to standard, solo numbers will be included. No ensembles.
2. Only original language texts (no singing translations) in Latin, French, German, and Italian from "classical" works are considered.
3. All texts must be considered in the public domain in the United States; that is, works published before 1923.
4. Contemporary editions of the work must be available to the general public. Rare works or works published only in collected works may be rejected. Historical reprint editions such as CD Sheet Music, Classical Vocal Reprints, and Recital Publications are not generally available for purchase worldwide and may be rejected.
